The Gambia Inaugurates its Consulate General in Dakhla

The Republic of the Gambia has inaugurated today Tuesday 7 its consulate general in southernmost city in Morocco Dakhla in the presence of Moroccan and Gambian Foreign Ministers.

Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Nasser Bourita, and his Gambian counterpart, Mamadou Tangara, chaired today morning the inauguration ceremony of the Gambian representation in the Moroccan city of Dakhla.

This diplomatic move came a few days after the head of the Gambian diplomacy Mamadou Tangara official announced his country’s decision to open its representation in the said city.

In the press conference he jointly organized with Nasser Bourita on December 12, Tangara said “We discussed the upcoming opening of a consulate of the Republic of The Gambia in Dakhla.”

The Gambia has an embassy in Morocco’s capital Rabat in addition to a consulate in the economic capital, Casablanca, whereas Morocco does not have any consular representation in the Gambia.
