The embassy of Morocco in China has stated that it has not recorded any case of infection among the Moroccan community in China and calls on Moroccans to abide by the safety measures put in place by the Chinese authorities.
The Moroccan embassy in the Chinese capital, Beijing, released a statement confirming that the Moroccan community in China has not registered any case of infection by the deadly Coronavirus.
The embassy recommends a firm compliance with the safety measures issued by the Chinese authorities particularly those that pertain to travel and the measures to prevent the propagation of the virus.
The Moroccan embassy unveiled that a crisis unit within the embassy is working in close collaboration with the Moroccan and the Chinese authorities under the direct supervision of the Moroccan Ambassador in China, Aziz Mekouar.
The statement continues that the unit has been closely monitoring the development of the situation throughout the entire republic.
Coronavirus Updates
The Chinese National Health Commission announced on Sunday 9 that 97 individuals have died of the virus, making Sunday the deadliest day since the outbreak of the virus and bringing the total death toll 811 in China. The number of infections has attained 37,198 individuals.
Nonetheless, the World Health Organization states that situation shows signs of improvement as the cases of announced infections is stabilizing.
“We are recording a four-day stability period, where the number of reported cases has not increased. This is good news and it could reflect the impact of the control measures that have been put in place,” says Emergency Health Program Manager at WHO, Michael Ryan.
The World Health Organization has deployed a team of experts to China to investigate the outbreak of the virus.
